Philip Hughes - Jura: Assynt: Rannoch

For its opening exhibition, The Watermill Gallery was extremely pleased to show the work of Philip Hughes.

Hughes is intensely intersted in maps and this reflects in his artistic work, grappling with how to represent the three-dimensional view onto a flat plane. In doing so, like a cartographer, he deliberately eliminates elements of the view in order to clarify other aspects.
