British artist Bridget Riley is the leading example of the Op Art movement, which focuses on playing perceptual games with the viewer and creating the impression of movement on a static canvas. She likes to experiment with colour and tone creating visual vibrations and rhythms, which often have a musical suggestion. Her influences range from the use of colour in post-impressionist painting to the energy of the futuristic paintings of Balla.
