About the artist

Hungarian born Victor Vasarely, was a founder of the Op Art movement, which focused on the deceptive effects of manipulation of lines and shapes. He viewed his work as performing a social function in local communities, and its graphic, illustrative qualities have been most effective in the form of urban murals and three-dimensional architectonic structures.
